Day by Day Itinerary

1

Day 1 - Casablanca

Arrive in Casablanca and begin the trip with one of Morocco’s most iconic landmarks, the Hassan II Mosque. Depending on your arrival time, you can also get a first feel for the city’s Atlantic side and modern urban character. Overnight in Casablanca.

2

Days 2 & 3 - Rabat

Travel to Rabat, Morocco’s capital and one of its most elegant cities. Explore the Kasbah of the Udayas, Hassan Tower and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, then use the second day to enjoy Rabat at a more relaxed pace. Compared with larger Moroccan cities, Rabat feels calmer, more polished and easier to navigate.

3

Days 4 & 5 - Tangier

Continue north to Tangier, one of Morocco’s most distinctive cities, where Europe, the Mediterranean and North Africa meet. If you are traveling by road, Asilah is a worthwhile stop along the way. Once in Tangier, spend time in the medina, the kasbah, viewpoints over the Strait of Gibraltar and some of the city’s literary and artistic corners.

4

Day 6 - Tetouan

Head east to Tetouan via Morocco’s beautiful Mediterranean coast. Tetouan is a smaller and more traditional city with one of Morocco’s most rewarding medinas. Its Andalusian character and UNESCO-listed old town make it one of the cultural highlights of northern Morocco. Overnight in Tetouan.

Continue into the Rif Mountains to reach Chefchaouen, Morocco’s famous Blue City. Spend the day wandering the blue-painted medina, enjoying the slower pace and taking in the views above town. Overnight in Chefchaouen.

6

Days 8 & 9 - Fes

Travel south to Fes, one of Morocco’s richest and most fascinating historic cities. Explore the old medina, artisan quarters, madrasas and famous tanneries, and discover Al-Qarawiyyin, founded in the 9th century and widely recognized as the world’s oldest continually operating institution of higher learning. Two nights here give the trip a strong and rewarding cultural finish before returning west.

7

Day 10 - Return to Casablanca

Return to Casablanca for departure or a final night. Ending the trip here keeps the itinerary practical and works well for international arrivals and departures.

This itinerary moves at a comfortable pace for most travelers. Those who prefer to slow down even more may want to spend less time in transit and more time in Tangier, Chefchaouen or Fes.
